Stocks of the new Pet Porte Smart Flap are being prepared ready to ship to customers on the 27th June 2009.
The eagerly anticipated new microchip reading cat flap features a new 210mm circular hole design so it can more easily replace standard circular cat flaps including the popular Staywell range and the competing Sure Flap battery powered version.
The new Smart Flap will work off mains power and battery power so you can have a choice of rapid scanning or standard scanning with a battery - so if your cats are being chased inside you can just plug it in to take advantage of the optimised scanning speed.
Also there is a new draught excluder around the edge of the transparent flap that keeps out all unwanted draughts. This makes the new Smart Flap perfect for people who live in windy areas where draughts are a problem.
It is 100% secure with a newly designed flap that cats cannot claw open. There are no notches or grooves that cats could stick their claws into and pull the cat open towards them.
With the optional internal porch sensor accessory (expected to be available in July or August 2009) you can scan cats on the way out too so that only cats you programme in are allowed in and out. You can even keep one cat in but let another cat out. Everything is made easier to programme with the improved user interface.
Additional accessories in the future will include a remote control to save you bending down to programme the cat flap and a computer software package that allows you to monitor your cats comings and goings over the Internet, post updates to Twitter, and programme the more advanced features - such as being able to set different programmes for each cats based on the time of day.
The Pet Porte Smart Flap is on sale at a pre-order discount price of £109.97. It will increase to £137 after the first batch of stock is sold.
